Acer Announces Android Gphone to be Released 4th qtr 2009
It looks like Acer is preparing to release a Gphone this
year powered by Android. Acer is
following HTC, Samsung and Motorola into
the Android powered arena. The PC maker
has already to be rumoured to be designing an Android powered laptop.
Acer has already announced at GSMA 2009 that it is set to
release up to (9) Windows powered mobile smart phones this year. The Windows phones will be based on a
Qualcomm snapdragon processor. However this is the first company confirmation
to the rumor that Acer will also release a Gphone based on Android. The company did not specify the processor,
however most Gphones have been based on the slower ARM based processors. A company spokesman said that the Acer Android
phone code named A1will be released in 4th quarter 2009.
